2022: Finding contractors to integrate technology

On August 10, 2022, it became known that it Ministry of Defence USA began to search for contractors among small private companies to integrate existing and promising technologies, the goal is to provide information to soldiers directly during hostilities.

The Army wants the venture to deliver equipment capable of supporting and integrating everything from sensors to 5G to augmented reality headsets in an attempt to optimize the ground soldier's ability to shoot, move and communicate. According to the bid, the project, called Ground Soldier - Technology Workflow, Integration and eXperience (GS-TWIX), is an attempt to link multiple technologies with hardware and software.

Pentagon begins search for contractors to integrate technology for soldier on battlefield

The military first revealed its intentions in early 2022, releasing a request for information that highlighted six elements, including technology capable of optimizing sensor data; communications, as in the Nett Warrior program; and other terrestrial systems necessary to display information collected by sensors or other means. Other elements of the task focus on improving the survivability of these systems when exposed to chemical, biological or nuclear attacks, as well as the tactical implications of using 5G.

{{quote "All applications must be integrated with the code base and hardware system, either Nett Warrior or Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS)! Contractor shall also provide technical report on integration of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear protection system. IVAS is also mentioned in connection with the integration of ground soldier systems and sensor soldier. The final word on whether the system will move forward remains with the Secretary of Defense, "said Douglas Bush, the chief buyer of the US Army. }} GS-TWIX represents part of the U.S. Army's ambition to connect data more closely with troops and decision makers through advanced sensors and networking capabilities. GS-TWIX also provides integration with the Army's IVAS augmented reality headset, which may indicate the Army's long-term plans to develop a future system. The Army plans to submit final test reports for the system to the U.S. Congress by early fall 2022 and decide on the future of IVAS before that time.[1]
