Sitronics Electro Completes Project for Mitino Electric Bus Fleet

Customers: Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of Moscow

Product: Comprehensive Engineering Systems Projects

Project date: 2022/07  - 2023/06

2023: Completion of charging infrastructure for electric bus fleet in Mitino

Sitronics Electro (part of Sitronics Group) under an agreement with the Rosseti Group has completed the construction of a charging infrastructure for an electric bus fleet in the Moscow region of Mitino.

In the electric bus park, up to 300 electric buses will be able to be serviced at a time. The general contractor for the project is Rosseti Group represented by Rosseti Moscow Region.

The park in the Mitino area will allow the launch of 23 electric bus routes by the end of 2024.

Operator Sitronics Electro has installed 37 ultra-fast charging stations (UBZS) in the fleet.

Control over the implementation of the project and technological connection to the electric network was provided by the general contractor for the creation of infrastructure for electric bus parks - Rosseti Group.

All charging stations are combined by a digital control and monitoring system, with the help of which round-the-clock control of all parameters is carried out.

The dynamic power distribution system developed by specialists makes it possible to optimally use the charging infrastructure of the fleet depending on the selected mode of operation of charging stations. In day mode, electric buses will be charged with a maximum power of up to 300 kW, in night mode, this power will be distributed between 6 charging stations, depending on the number of electric buses on charge.

During this project, we further increased Sitronics Electro's competencies not only in terms of design and construction and installation, but also in terms of IT development, implementing our own system of dynamic power distribution between UBZS at the software level and deploying a dispatching system, which was developed by our specialists. Thus, we continue to move towards strengthening our positions in the development of electric charging infrastructure in Russia, "added Sitronics Electro CEO Andrei Gurlenov, the press service reports.

2022: Plan for the creation of charging infrastructure in Mitino and Novokosino

By the end of 2022, a charging infrastructure will be created in two electric bus parks in the Mitino and Novokosino districts. Rosseti became the general contractor for the project. The contractor for the supply and construction of charging stations in accordance with the contract with Rosseti Moscow Region will be the operator of the charging infrastructure Sitronics Electro (part of the Sitronics Group). Sitronics announced this on August 16, 2022.

In the electric bus park of the Mitino district, 37 ultra-fast charging stations (UBZS) will be installed, which will be able to charge more than 200 electric buses. In Novokosino, it is planned to install 13 UBZS designed to charge 78 units of passenger transport.

The electric power supply schemes implemented by Rosseti Moscow Region with the possibility of redundancy will ensure the stability and quality of power supply to transport infrastructure facilities.

The main and backup power supply source for the electric bus park in Mitino will be 110 kV Angelovo and 220 kV Penyagino substations. The output capacity will be 4.6 MW. The project provides for the construction and installation of three packaged transformer substations 10/0.4 kV and the laying of 10 cable lines 10 kV, including the method of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) in connection with dense urban development.

The electric bus park in Novokosino will be connected to the 110 kV Kosino and 220 kV Vostochnaya substations. The connection capacity will be almost 2.5 MW, thanks to the construction of two compact transformer substations 10/0.4 kV and 14 cable lines 10 and 0.4 kV.

UBZS will be equipped with a dynamic power control system. Thanks to this, in daytime mode, each station will be able to charge one electric bus at a speed of 300 kWh. Charging to 80% battery capacity will take 20 minutes. In night mode, when 6 electric buses are connected, power will be evenly distributed over 50 kW to the charging station.

All charging stations will be combined by a single digital control and monitoring system, with the help of which round-the-clock control of all charge parameters and emergency situations are carried out.
