2022: Launch of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

Yuryev-Polsky plant "Promsvyaz" is a large Russian manufacturer of current stabilizers for LEDs, an expert in the contract production of metal products and electronics and the consulting direction of Nati launched the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations system into commercial operation. This was announced by Nati on August 15, 2022.

The prerequisites for starting the project were the need to develop the information system in connection with the growing needs of the business. The Microsoft Navision Axapta 3.0 system used required significant resources to support and constrained the development of the company. The main task of automation is to increase the liquidity of warehouse stocks, reduce the cost and time of delivery of components. At the same time, the cost of maintaining improved processes should not increase.

The company has several key features. First of all, it is:

  • A very large range of products, materials and components (more than 100 thousand units);
  • Multilevel automated control of changes in design and process documentation has been built;
  • Complex products, among which there are many special developments for client requests;
  • Requirements for rapid modeling of product composition and price;
  • Operational planning of purchasing requirements for components.

At the first stage of the project, you had to transfer regulatory reference information from the old system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. The transfer was complicated by the fact that the company was simultaneously optimizing and transcoding key directories. This required the creation of additional temporary tools for cascading recoding directories "on the fly."

In parallel with the production preparation subsystem, the following were launched: calculation of product calculation, sales, integration with EDM and the first stage of procurement and accounting of goods.

At first, it seemed to the company that a system change could be carried out faster than in a year. However, the company is constantly working and developing. This forced to support all processes in the old Aksapt and implement another. And the plant is grateful to Nati and its employees who, in addition to design and development, performed two-stage integration testing of the updated system on large products. This avoided unpleasant surprises at launch,

As part of the second stage, the functionality of another outdated system used for inventory accounting and regulated accounting is transferred. In parallel, automation of the internal document flow for production began.
