2022: Agreement on the production of microelectronic components for intelligent electricity metering devices

On August 25, 2022, the GS Group holding announced that it had received an opinion from the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the production of microelectronic components for smart electricity metering devices on the territory of the Russian Federation and had already signed the first contracts for the supply of products with a total volume of several million units. The largest of them - with JSC Electrotechnical Plants Energomer - provides for the supply of more than 1 million products.

The contract provides for the supply of chips that provide non-volatile memory, as well as interface protocol chips. communications These components are of fundamental importance for an intelligent electricity meter, providing collection, processing, storage and transmission data of consumption. It is these functionality, according to the FZ-522 and policy of digitalization of the power grid complex, that a countries modern metering device used in the framework of intelligent metering systems should have.

The use of domestic electronic components will allow Russian manufacturers of metering devices, in particular, Energomer JSC, to optimize logistics processes and reduce the delivery time of components and equipment production.

From the very beginning, we developed and put ECB into mass production in close cooperation with manufacturers of Russian smart meters, and above all with Energomer. This made it possible to take into account their needs and features of electricity metering devices as much as possible. The competencies of domestic companies have become sharply in demand and therefore it is especially important to develop intra-industry interaction and form full-fledged production chains, commented Fedor Boyarkov, Production Development Director of GS Group.

Our company will present the first serial sample of the meter based on the domestic electronic base of components manufactured by GS Group in the 3rd quarter of 2022. Together with colleagues, a lot of work has been done, the result of which will be a fundamentally different level of development of the domestic instrument market. Localization of the production of an electronic base for meters is primarily the speed of transportation and the ability to refine the product in an operational and direct, and therefore more effective, dialogue with developers from Russia, said Mikhail Lobodin, a representative of Energomer.

The production of localized complex solutions in the field of ECB for the creation of smart electricity metering devices is deployed by GS Group on the basis of its own development and production center. microelectronics GS Nanotech The capacity of GS Nanotech for August 2022 allows the production of more than 10 million such microelectronic components per year. The total volume investments of the project exceeds 500 million. rubles

The development and production of smart metering devices is carried out on the basis of own production facilities of Energomer JSC - a plant of measuring instruments in Nevinnomyssk. The plant implements a full cycle of production of electric energy meters, from casting of instrument housings and mounting of printed circuit boards, to assembly, verification and packaging. The plant's capacity for August 2022 includes more than 1000 units of high-tech automated equipment and allows the production of over 3 million metering devices per year. Over 50 million meters came off the assembly line of the enterprise. All manufactured equipment, as well as production processes, fully comply with international and Russian standards.

According to the analytical center GS Group, in Russia as a whole, up to 80 million smart electricity meters are to be replaced or primary installed at various facilities. At the same time, the need for energy sales companies in such devices is estimated at 5 million units per year.
