History

2022: Ossur acquired Naked Prosthetics

On August 29, 2022, Ossur announced it would acquire Naked Prosthetics at a price the companies would not disclose. The deal's perimeter included technology developed by Naked Prosthetics for people with finger amputations and partial hand amputations.

Ossur said the acquisition meets the critical needs of patients with finger loss and partial hand loss, adding to the company's product portfolio, and therefore strengthens the supply of limb products around the world. It will also allow Ossur to reach a wider group of amputees. Management of the company said the acquisition would not affect its financial forecasts for 2022.

In 2021, the company received an income of $9 million. For August 2022, the company manufactures three devices to replace partial or complete loss of a finger.
