2022: Platform Announcement

On September 3, 2022, LG Electronics released LG Art Lab's NFT platform, which allows users to find, buy, sell and exchange NFTs on LG smart TVs.

The announcement comes about eight months after LG Electronics said in a news conference that it plans to include NFT features in its smart TVs. The platform is now only available in the US for those with LG TV running WebOS 5.0 or later and is available directly from the home screen.

LG launches NFT platform that allows you to buy and sell digital works of art

LG Electronics is partnering with the Hedera network to offer an app that allows users to buy NFT through Wallypto, LG's cryptocurrency wallet for smartphones. The partnership was launched in 2020 when LG Electronics joined Hedera's leadership board, which includes Google, IBM, Deutsche Telekom, Indian Institute of Technology and others.

{{quote 'Although many people have heard of the NFT and would like to take part in a growing ecosystem, getting started can be too difficult and difficult. LG Art Lab is created so that millions of users in the United States can easily access and display NFTs without interacting with code or directly with blockchain. Hedera consumes far less energy than any other public ledger, making it an ideal choice for sustainable initiatives and meaning it can satisfy the ESG of today's businesses and investors, said LG Electronics senior vice president and head of platform business Chris Jo. }} The NFT platform provides a Drops feature that profiles artists and shows previews of their new artwork. Live Drops provides real-time notifications to help users purchase an NFT.[1]
