2022: Automation of repair management in the largest Russian port terminal for transshipment of grain crops through the introduction of a standard solution 1S:TOIR

Brief about the project

One of the country's largest port terminals for grain transshipment, the Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NRT), required digitalization of equipment maintenance and repair (MR) processes. Planning and accounting of M&R processes was carried out "on paper" and in MS Excel, which increased the time spent on analysis and planning. It was decided to digitize the processes of planning and accounting for MR through the implementation of the 1S:TOIR solution, and the automation project was carried out by Desnol Soft, the Russian center of competence for digitalization of asset management, the developer of 1S:TOIR.

At the time of putting the system into commercial operation in April 2022, 10 workplaces were automated in the Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, and ~ 10,000 repair facilities were introduced.

Automation results

During the project, data exchange between 1S:TOIR and other systems based on 1C: Enterprises was established, namely:

In addition, integration between 1S:TOIR and APCS is implemented, which provides automated transmission to the information system for managing repairs of data on equipment operating time, as well as on emergency shutdowns. Data on the operating time and condition (downtime) of the equipment are used in the formation of the WEP schedule.

According to the results of the project, the goals set by the NRT management at the start of MRO automation were achieved:

  • MR processes are digitalized.
  • The process of keeping the hardware database, regulations, service history up to date is easier and more transparent.
  • Data is uploaded from the SCADA process control system for further analysis of equipment operating time and emergency shutdowns.
  • The work performed in the shift is reflected in the 1S:TOIR system. Repair works are unloaded by a standard chain of documents (estimate - certificate). This allows you to quickly display in the database information about the implementation of repair work (dates, time, list of work, work used, etc.).
  • The internal document flow of MR on paper has decreased. This task is implemented as part of the work order and work management process.

In order to start processes, we needed a team that has experience in setting up and implementing 1S:TOIR. Development plans

In the near future, Novorossiysk Grain Terminal plans to introduce the innovative 1C:ERP Enterprise Management system, which replaced the once popular 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management and integrate with 1S:TOIR.

1C:ERP allows you to automate the main business processes, monitor the key performance indicators of the enterprise, organize the interaction of services and divisions, coordinate the activities of production units, assess the effectiveness of the enterprise, individual units and personnel. Together with the implementation of the 1C:ERP, it is planned to complete the second phase of the repair management automation project, namely, the implementation of the logistics unit in the 1S:TOIR. Thus, the operational services of the enterprise will have the opportunity to draw up a repair plan, form a realistic budget for parts and materials, store the required number of materials in stock and do not inflate stocks, and correctly reflect the write-off.

I would like to note that the 1S:TOIR system allows you to increase the accuracy and efficiency of planning, as well as reduce the time and cost of purchasing spare parts and performing scheduled and unscheduled work. The system keeps records of all works and labor costs for planned and unscheduled repairs. This solution simplifies the ordering of spare parts.
