2022: Huawei returns official corporate customer support in Russia
Huawei has returned official support for corporate customers in Russia. The first to draw attention to this was the Telegram channel "Import substitution in IT. Equipment and Software. " There, on September 7, 2022, it was reported that the service was called Hi-Care For Russia Only.
According to the channel, there was no official announcement of the service, and it is unlikely that there will be, but many distributors and customers have already been notified of Huawei's initiative. In fact, this is the previous level of those vendor support, but without RMA, that is, without advance replacement of equipment. "Iron" for replacement in this case must be provided by the customer. All other support, as before, up to the departure to the customer, is taken over by Huawei, the publication says. According to the Telegram channel, with the help of Hi-Care For Russia Only, you can also extend the current contracts.
The main problem for customers is that Huawei Enterprise has not accepted applications for new orders since April 2022. Retailers, on the other hand, have been supplying a small number of Huawei Enterprise equipment according to parallel import schemes for some time.
Since the beginning of March 2022, Huawei has been gradually reducing its presence in the Russian market, introducing certain "sanctions" without announcements and notifications. For example, it halved the supply of its consumer solutions to Russians, and telecom operators in the spring of 2022 lost the opportunity to purchase base stations from it.
At the end of May 2022, it became known that Huawei unilaterally stopped supplying telecommunications equipment to the Russian Federation, although it did not directly declare that it was leaving the market.
It is assumed that Huawei, as part of the resumption of deliveries of telecommunications products, intends to remain on the Russian market and for this is working on schemes for the supply of equipment and electronics through parallel imports, or plans to create a separate brand for work within the country.[1]
