2022: Start of construction of a data center for 3.3 billion rubles in the Magadan region
On September 7, 2022, a project was announced to build a large data center in the Magadan Region worth 3.3 billion rubles. The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed by the Governor of the Magadan Region Sergei Nosov, representatives of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation JSC (KRDV), PJSC RusHydro and MagadanDataService JSC.
This is a project that will require, among other things, federal funding, support for the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Federation and RusHydro. The investor will have to create facilities on the territory of the Magadan Region that allow him to use the electricity generated by our hydroelectric power plants in full, in full, - said Sergei Nosov, whose words are quoted by the press service of the government of the Magadan Region. |
According to Vadim Medvedev, General Director of MagadanDataService, the data center is planned to be launched in 2023-2024. It is assumed that thanks to the implementation of the project, more than 250 new jobs will be created in the region.
It will be a data center, computing power, which in the Far East is not yet so much. Many needs will even be transferred from the European part of Russia, since there are very competitive conditions for tax taxation and electricity prices.
