2022: Service Launch

On September 19, 2022, the Israeli artificial intelligence company D-ID launched a platform allowing users to create videos from a single photo and text script.

The company launched Creative Reality Studio, a video platform that allows users to easily animate photos and generate high-quality and customizable content led by a single-image-based presenter.

Creative Reality Studio Service Interface

D-ID applies artificial intelligence to synthetic avatars capable of moving and speaking based on photos. Enterprises can convert an image of an employee, company representative, or stock photo into a video with an artificial voice, uttering words in a written script. The Creative Reality platform eliminates the need to create video and allows customers to create artificial media content on their own. Face and body gestures are also tied to a special PowerPoint plugin, which allows the virtual character to hold an entire presentation. The company claims it's much cheaper than making multiple video choices, including in multiple languages.

Users can also download their own audio clips for voice cloning. In addition, the company is working on a tool that will allow users to upload their own videos to train AI to be more expressive as well as mimic the person in the video. In addition, users can choose a language (the platform supports 119 languages), voice and speech types such as fun, sad, excited and friendly.

{{quote 'The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the growth of digital content needs around the world. A big challenge for organizations is creating educational content. Reading documents and viewing presentations can be dry and boring. In addition, they have to spend thousands of dollars to hire actors and create educational videos. So we use our artificial intelligence to create presenters and curators that will copy people and make content more engaging and effective, "Gil Perry, D-ID's CEO, said in an interview. }} Perry noted a variety of uses for the technology - from the CEO's multilingual message to employees to personalized wishes to the company's customers.[1][2]
