The chemical concern LANXESS is automated on Microsoft Dynamics AX

The LANKSESS company, the Russian division of the German chemical concern LANXESS, automated financial accounting based on Microsoft Dynamics AX according to regulations of the Russian legislation and corporate accounting standards. Project implementation was provided by GMCS company.

The LANXESS AG concern which is quoted on the Frankfurt stock exchange is the largest producer of the wide range of chemical products which are presented at all major markets of the world. The annual turnover of 44 representative offices of LANXESS in 21 countries of the world in 2008 made 6.58 billion euros. The concern adheres to the principle of consecutive development as bases of any activity of LANXESS. For the purpose of expansion of opportunities of concern for customer service in the CIS countries in January, 2009 in Russia the LANKSESS subsidiary company was open. According to corporate standards one of standard solutions on automation of managerial and financial accounting is Microsoft Dynamics AX. At the end of 2008 the management of LANXESS concern addressed GMCS with the following task: automate in "LANKSESS" financial accounting according to the Russian and corporate accounting standards.

At the first stage consultants of GMCS jointly with specialists of the headquarters of LANXESS and also the German IT company Aixonix, carried out the analysis of the solution LANXESS on compliance to requirements of the Russian legislation. The matrix giving an idea of the main discrepancies between requirements of the Russian legislation and corporate standards of LANXESS concern was as a result developed. Further on the basis of this matrix works on adaptation of financial accounting to the Russian standards were carried out.

Then the project team started design of financial analytical model of LANKSESS company on the basis of which the reporting according to the Russian standards prepares now. At this stage the decision to keep parallel account of economic transactions with primary reflection on accounts of the Russian chart of accounts and the subsequent broadcast of data on the chart of accounts conforming to corporate standards was made.

Today the financial accounting system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX of LANKSESS company is operated in an operating mode.

Specialists of GMCS implemented the additional tools allowing to keep account as well according to regulations of the Russian legislation in our system, avoiding at the same time additional labor costs", – Natalya Vorobyova, the chief accountant of LANKSESS company says.
