Khabarovsk Refinery, joint stock company

The Khabarovsk oil refinery — the oldest and main producer of motor and boiler fuels in the Far East. The plant issued the first products in August, 1935. With an initial power of 400 thousand tons of oil a year, it was urged to provide with oil products the developing national economy of the Far East and Eastern Siberia.

Today the plant is a complex of capacities for processing of 4.35 million tons of oil the year allowing to produce motor gasolines, aviation fuel, diesel fuel, naval and furnace fuel oil, road, roofing and construction petrobitumens, liquefied gas propane-butane for household consumption, liquid carbonic acid and dry ice. Products developed by the plant traditionally are delivered on satisfaction of economic needs of the Khabarovsk and Seaside regions, the Amur region and northern regions of the country.

Perspectives of development of JSC Khabarovsk Refinery are connected as with further improvement of the existing technologies of oil refining, and with implementation of new technologies. Now at the plant the comprehensive program of upgrade is implemented.

In November, 2007. The company signed with Tecnicas Reunidas the contract for design, delivery and construction of a complex of hydrogenation processes, worth $800 million. About $200 million more are going to be invested in reconstruction of catalytic reforming units and viscosity breaking. The project is calculated till 2012. According to the results of its implementation the Khabarovsk Refinery will become one of the most technological oil processing enterprises in Russia - the complexity unit of plant (Nelson index) after upgrade will be 9.9.
