The Tavrichesky bank upgraded own DPC

The company "Verysell Service", entering into Verysell Group, completed creation of the center of processing and data storage (DPC) for the St. Petersburg bank "Tavrichesky". For September, 2010 for the created DPC the stage of industrial testing is complete, and it is transferred to the mode of a full-fledged work.

Banks build to themselves data processing centers as necessary (a part of customers build new, a part is upgraded by old). Though practically all banks can afford own DPC today.

According to the CEO of the company "Verysell Service" Nikolay Yakimov, advantage of creation of own DPC to bank is an opportunity to ensure safety, controllability and independence of solution provider. Shortcomings - the high cost of initial investments, need of support, additional costs on personnel.

As for the St. Petersburg joint stock bank "Tavrichesky" which is one of the largest credit and financial organizations of the Northwest region of Russia, it needed to provide fault tolerance, scalability and the continuity of work. To guarantee to clients the high level of service in all listed directions, the bank should ensure smooth operation of information systems therefore the management made the decision on creation of own failsafe DPC.

The DPC is located in St. Petersburg in the bank building. Construction of the facility began in January, 2010. "Verysell Service" built the storage area network (SAN) on the basis of optical multiplexers of Brocade and reserved storage system based on HDS AMS 200 and HDS AMS2100 using software of Sun Solaris Volume Manager. Within the project the fault tolerance of Oracle DBMS with which the bank works is also provided. The solution is constructed based on the Sun Enterprise M4000 servers under control of Sun Solaris 10 and Sun Cluster 3.2 and also a backup system based on tape library SUN SL48 and software of Symantec Veritas Netbackup.

Alfabank, Rusbank, "the International Industrial Bank" locate own DPCs. At the beginning of a year HP announced project completion on upgrade of the premises for a data processing center of Raiffeisenbank.
