2022: Launch of the "Data Processing Platform"

On October 18, 2022, Selectel announced the launch of the Data Processing Platform, which operates at its facilities and is designed to handle large amounts of data. The platform is based on the ITS Data Processing Platform (ITS DPP) product from ITSumma, a partner of Selectel, and uses a set of open source solutions for data processing, storage and analysis (Apache Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, Superset, Kafka, as well as Greenplum and ClickHouse).

The data processing platform will allow Selectel customers to move to the provider's infrastructure and focus on solving analytical problems, no longer thinking about performance and supporting their own IT equipment. The solution provides the ability to collect data from various sources, process data streams for further analysis, and store structured and unstructured information based on a data lake or enterprise data warehouse. It can be used both to create a data platform from scratch and to migrate client data to Selectel computing power.

The platform is easy to deploy on dedicated servers of fixed or arbitrary configurations. Access to it is provided by subscription. In addition, as part of the service package, Selectel is engaged in servicing and supporting the platform at the infrastructure level, and ITSumma provides DataOp and/or MLOps support.

When launching the solution, we focused on the growing interest of companies in data analysis and processing, and also took into account the shortage of qualified specialists in the field of data engineering in the labor market, "said Alexander Tugov, director of services development at Selectel. - This product will allow our customers to benefit from their data and not spend resources on configuring the infrastructure or looking for additional personnel to administer their own platform. Selectel and ITSumma experts will deal with all monitoring, maintenance and support issues.

We record an increase in the need for domestic solutions for data processing and analysis amid the departure of foreign suppliers from the Russian market. ITS DPP is able to significantly import substitution of foreign products.
