2024: Ministry of Digital Development announced recruitment for free programming courses

In mid-February 2024, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation announced the start of enrollment for free programming courses for schoolchildren in grades 8-11, college students and technical schools. They are offered training in the "Code of the Future" program in the following areas:

The courses include four training modules (the volume of each is at least 36 academic hours), training takes place in an online format. Depending on the level of their IT training, participants can choose from three programs - initial, basic and advanced. Schoolchildren and students can apply for participation in the "Code of the Future" program on the State Public services portal.

To enroll in training, you need to select the course you like in the catalog and submit an application on the Public services portal. When the documents are checked, a link will be sent to your email and personal account to pass the entrance test. You must be tested within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the link. After successfully completing the tasks, it is necessary to conclude an agreement with an educational organization.

Several programming languages ​ ​ and a list of organizations that will conduct training are available on the State Public services portal. Among them are Yandex, 1C, Mobile Electronic Education, MSTU named after N.E. Bauman, Innopolis University, MIPT and other leading IT companies and universities.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development, in order to start classes, you need to be tested. According to the ministry, since the launch of the Code of the Future program in 2022, more than 100 thousand schoolchildren in grades 8-11 have been trained. In 2023, college students were able to become participants in the program - in total, more than 140 thousand people began classes.[1]

2022: Acceptance of applications

In September 2022, the Public services portal started accepting applications for programming courses for schoolchildren as part of the project "Code of the Future, which is being developed by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation. A month later, the Учи.ру educational platform announced the launch of free programming courses offered as part of this project. They are accessible to students in grades 8-11. Read more here.
