2022: Announcement of an MRI scanner with an AI system

In late October 2022, Philips announced the launch of artificial intelligence-enabled MRCAT radiotherapy. The device allows using MRI as the main imaging method without the need for oncologists to use computed tomography.

{{quote 'Excellent soft tissue imaging in MRI combined with advances in integration and orchestration data, including use, AI promise greater clarity and less subjectivity in head and neck cancer radiotherapy planning. With the HealthSuite Insights platform, we empower them to bring everything they need together information about patients, process data, and leverage AI capabilities to support accurate diagnosis, personalized therapy, early intervention, and improve hospital efficiency, said Philips Chief Medical Officer for Oncology Solutions Ilya Gipp. }} AI-enabled MRCAT allows the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as the main imaging technique when using radiotherapy to treat head and neck tumors. This development, along with the soft tissue imaging capabilities and the high resolution image quality of Philips neck and coil, is combined with the new characteristics of comfort, positioning accuracy and stability of the MacroMedics mask. The developers strive to make patients feel comfortable, and oncologists receive accurate images and conduct accurate treatment of intractable tumors.[1]
