2022: Technology Announcement

At the end of October 2022, it became known about the creation by Gamma-DNA of a 5th generation DNA sequencer that determines the nucleotide (genetic) sequence of DNA or RNA. According to the developers, the technology will help to find the causes of diseases faster and cheaper, determine the methods of their treatment, and will also help solve a number of issues in pharmacagenomics and precision oncology. In addition, the technology will allow ectopic fertilization (IVF) to be several times cheaper.

It is noted that a complex, low-cost, original solution in comparison with foreign analogues can decrypt the human genome within four hours, and the sequencing result will cost an order of magnitude cheaper and two orders of magnitude more accurately (99.9999%) compared to the nearest competitor.

Genome decoding technology created in Russia

According to Mikhail Gutorov, General Director of Gamma-DNA, by the end of October 2022, the plan for the sale of the technology has not been determined - it will appear later, when the company decides on partners. According to the expected characteristics, the developed sequencer will be more competitive compared to foreign counterparts. The reagents will be produced in Russia, so the volume of production will be determined by their need. The company is also looking for options for the production of electronic components of the device in Russia or China, Gutorov said.

Gamma-DNA is engaged, among other things, in the production of devices for medical purposes based on the use of X-ray, alpha, beta and gamma radiation, as well as scientific research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences.[1]
