2022: Announcement

On November 2, 2022, it became known that Google intends to provide a number of users with access to its Imagen artificial intelligence (AI) system, which is capable of generating images by text description. At first, it will be possible to test this neural network as part of a specialized application.

Imagen's AI model is comparable in quality to DALL-E 2 OpenAI or Stable Diffusion from Stability AI, but Google has not yet made its neural network publicly available. However, it will soon be possible to assess the capabilities of this tool on the basis of AI Test Kitchen - this is an application in which people can find out, test and leave feedback on new artificial intelligence technologies.

Google, which turns text into a picture, has become available to everyone

It is said that Google will offer two Imagen testing options - City Dreamer and Wobble modes. In the first case, users will be able to ask the neural network to generate city elements created on the basis of a particular topic. Imagen will create samples of buildings, streets and various objects, after which it will present them in isometric projection - by analogy with SimCity.

The Wobble mode, in turn, will create a small monster - by the type of character generation in Spore. You need to choose a material (clay, felt, rubber, etc.), as well as decide on clothes. After that, the neural network will form a spectacular monster and give it a name. Then it will be possible to interact with the character, forcing him to "dance."

For the test, you need to register with the AI Test Kitchen service. The service provides people with a new way to learn, experience and leave feedback on new AI technologies such as LaMDA.

It is noted that at present, Imagen's image generation capabilities are not too wide compared to similar solutions. However, this is done deliberately: Google's goal is to collect feedback on the operation of the neural network from ordinary users and understand how people interact with this artificial intelligence system. The service is available at this link. [1]
