2022: Announcement

In early November 2022, a Jetson surfing electric board was presented, which was made by the American company Jetson Surf Technology. According to the developers, the created board is capable of catching more waves.

Jetson surfing has four detachable fins, an epoxy resin body and three size options, according to surfer height, experience and preferences: length 2 m, 2.4 m and 2.7 m. Surfing weight 8.6 kg, 9.5 kg and 10.4 kg, respectively. Jetson differs in that it provides temporary feed to users as needed.

The surf also features a built-in jet-powered engine that provides thrust of up to 9kg. This engine is activated with a touchpad built into the waterproof deck, where users can choose from four power modes. Modes range from 25% power, at which the speed reaches 3 km/h, to 100% with a maximum speed of 10 km/h.

The idea behind the developers is that low speeds can be used to help riders as they row or maintain a waiting position in strong currents, while higher speeds can help them punch through and catch waves. When the 100% mode is activated, the surfing engine will operate at the same power for 12 seconds, and then decrease to 75% by another 100 seconds, after which it will automatically turn off. The engine can also be turned off manually earlier. The 25% and 50% modes are shut down after 100 seconds. This means that the engine will not continue to operate after the user's help is no longer needed, which saves battery life. The manufacturer claims that one charge of the lithium battery lasts for 90 minutes of operation, and the charging time is from 3 to 5 hours.

When falling off the board, the motor is automatically turned off so that the surfboard does not rush forward without the user. Also, like traditional burgunds, this one has a belt loop for the ankle.[1]
