2022: Smart ID Engine Implementation

The Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate (GU) of the Bank of Russia, located in Nizhny Novgorod, has introduced Smart ID Engine certification recognition technology. The system was created by the Russian company Smart Engines, which announced this on November 9, 2022. Smart ID Engine has been delivered and implemented as part of the access control and visitor accounting terminal by Rost-VSP. This Nizhny Novgorod company was also engaged in the development of the terminal and its commissioning.

Cooperation between Smart Engines scientists and VSP Growth specialists allowed visitors to the Volga-Vyatka GU of the Bank of Russia to independently receive a pass in automatic terminals at Bank of Russia facilities. These facilities are located at a distance from the main building and do not have their own pass offices.

To get an appointment at the Volga-Vyatskoye GU of the Bank of Russia, a visitor must independently attach a document to the scanner built into the terminal, and the Smart Engines passport recognition system automatically reads its data. Further, the terminal requests an application for passage and, in case of a positive answer, gives the visitor a pass card. Thus, the operator no longer needs to independently enter the details of the visitor's passport. The implementation of the Smart ID Engine solution reduces the time spent on the routine process of manual data entry by six times, and greatly simplifies the process of issuing a pass.
