2022: Bashkiria creates Russia's first medical waste disposal system
In Bashkiria, they are creating the first system for neutralizing medical waste in Russia. The Prime Minister of the Republic Andrei Nazarov spoke about this project in November 2022.
According to him, the system will allow tracking the entire life cycle of medical waste from its appearance to disposal. Also, according to the official, facilities will be created "that disinfect epidemiologically hazardous medical waste."
The Minister of Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Bashkortostan Niyaz Fazylov explained that within the framework of the project, all organizations that accept medical waste will be required to provide detailed information. The data will include the source of the waste, its volume and the path forward - disposal or storage. All information will be entered into a single register in electronic form. It will be conducted by the Ministry of Digital Development of Public Administration, the government noted.
According to the ecologist, director of environmental programs of the Green Patrol organization Roman Pukalov, the topic of medical waste disposal has become especially relevant amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Of course, this is a dangerous type of waste, especially in terms of the spread of covid. We have seen how much society can suffer, including from the improper disposal of medical waste. Therefore, we support such a decision with both hands. Another thing is that there is still no exact data on the volume of medical waste generation in the regions, "Pukalov said. |
Timur Kotlyar, Deputy General Director of RT-Invest JSC, says that by November 2022, Russia lacks a suitable regulatory framework for the disposal and disposal of medical waste. In this direction, you need to work, he said.[1]
