2022: Took over as CEO of Intel in Russia

At the end of November 2022, it became known about the change of the general director of the Russian representative office of Intel. He was appointed Oleg Abashev, who replaced Natalia Galyan. This is evidenced by the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL).

As it clarifies, TASS Abashev became the general director of two Russian Intel structures - Intel A/O and Intel Technologies. The entry into the Unified State Register of Legal Entities of both records on the change of the head of legal entities took place on November 9, 2022.

The Russian "daughter" Intel has changed its CEO

The change of the head of the Russian subsidiaries of Intel became known a few months after the American microprocessor manufacturer announced the termination of the supply of its products to the Russian Federation and Belarus. The reason was the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

Intel emphasized that they strive to support all their employees, including those employed in Russia. Employees of the development center in Nizhny Novgorod were sent on corporate leave with salary preservation. In total, in the spring of 2022 there were about 1.2 thousand employees of the company in the Russian Federation.

Exactly what the backstop is, how long it will last, remains unknown by the end of November 2022. There is also no data on whether Intel plans to reduce its Russian staff, and whether it will try to lure Russian specialists to other countries of its presence.

The company had another research facility. It was located in Novosibirsk, but Intel decided to disband it in the fall of 2016 and focus all its development in Nizhny Novgorod. The Novosibirsk Intel Development Center has been operating since 2004. It employed about 130 people. The center was engaged in the development of compilers and computational methods.[1]
