2022: Blockchain service launch
At the end of November 2022, Roscosmos announced the full-scale launch of a blockchain service to identify violations of trademark rights - IP Guard. This is a joint project with Web3 Tech (formerly under the Waves Enterprise brand).
According to the developers, the IP Guard solution will allow copyright holders to reduce the cost and time to identify violations of the rights to their trademarks and other intellectual property. Experts estimate the annual loss of the Russian economy due to insufficient attention to the protection and protection of intellectual property at 3.52 trillion rubles, Roskosmos said.
As explained in the state corporation, the service is designed to attract freelancers who, for a fee, will help copyright holders reduce the time and cost of identifying violations of their intellectual property rights. The platform will provide confirmation of the identified facts using an enhanced electronic signature and cryptographic timestamp.
Modern technologies allow copyright holders to reduce the cost and time to identify violations of the rights to their trademarks and other intellectual property objects, says Artem Kalikhov, CEO of Web3 Tech. - This will significantly save lawyers' working time - on average by 30% - and will allow them to devote them entirely to other aspects of their professional activities. The performers, in turn, will be able to work for the copyright holder they are interested in in a convenient mode, independently choose remuneration options and gain important experience in working with copyright companies for career development. All this will help the business reduce the cost of identifying the facts of violation of rights and collecting the evidence base.[1] |
