2022: Ag Mining bought 25% of Zolotaya Zvezda for 550 million rubles
In early December 2022, it became known about the completion of a deal to sell 25% of the gold mining company Zolotaya Zvezda in Khakassia to the Russian company Ag Mining, which is part of the Swedish group Kopy Goldfields AB. The transaction cost amounted to 550 million rubles, said Mikhail Damrin, CEO of Kopy Goldfields AB.
According to him, the main task of the new shareholders is to complete the modernization of the gold recovery plant at the May deposit, as well as carry out geological exploration work to clarify the existing ore reserves.

Kopy Goldfields is "an experienced gold mining company with extensive experience in the Far East Russia and a solid industrial reputation," the company's website says. By December 2022, Zolotaya Zvezda is implementing a project to modernize the May processing plant in order to increase the capacity to 250 thousand tons of ore per year and switch to the method of direct leaching of gold ore. Commissioning of this facility is expected in the second half of 2023.[1]
