2022: Technology Announcement

On December 1, 2022, it became known about the creation in Russia of a new technology of laser surgery for operations on mucous tissues. We are talking about the development of the Polyus Research Institute named after M.F. Stelmakh (part of the Schwabe holding of the Rostec state corporation).

According to the developers, with the help of their system, the doctor can choose the laser color, duration and radiation power in accordance with the individual characteristics of the patient. The technology reduces the trauma of surgery on mucous tissues and reduces healing time due to individual selection of laser beam parameters.

Russia has created a new technology of laser surgery for operations on mucous tissues

{{quote 'This approach makes surgical interventions less traumatic and shortens the patient's recovery period after surgery. The new method was tested in one of the departmental medical centers and proved its effectiveness, - said the executive director of Rostec Oleg Yevtushenko. }} The experimental approach has already been successfully tested in clinical practice - the technology is used during intestinal operations at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) of the Federal Property Management Agency.

{{quote 'Before introducing this technology into their clinical practice, doctors undergo extensive training. In the future, we expect to expand the application of the new technique to leading specialized medical institutions, - said Evgeny Kuznetsov, General Director of the Polyus Research Institute. }} Thanks to the innovative capabilities of modern lasers, namely modulated forms of laser pulse, independent adjustment of ablation depth, power and pulse length, it has become possible to make laser operations as effective and physiological as possible when working with various types of tissues and readings. The safety of the patient depends on the competence of the specialist, therefore, training doctors in laser technology is a prerequisite for the use of laser technologies in medical practice.[1]
