2022: Start of production of smart electric meters without Western components
In December 2022, the production of smart electric meters without Western components began from the Saratov region. The project is being implemented by the Mossar NPF enterprise (part of the Incotex group of companies) in the city of Marx. The volume of investments in this project has not been disclosed.
{{quote 'The city-forming enterprise from the Saratov region overcame dependence on Western components and launched the production of a line of "intelligent" electricity metering devices without using the Western component base. Four new types of metering devices have been certified and entered the market. These are smart meters that not only keep records of electricity, but also store and transfer data, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Saratov Region quoted TASS as saying. }}
As Dmitry Kolokolov, deputy director of NPF Mossar LLC, clarified, his company, with the participation of regional authorities, found alternative suppliers, which made it possible to increase the share of domestic components and materials in metering devices by almost half and restore shipment volumes to the previous level. As a result, four new types of smart meters have entered the market, which have already been certified. By December 2022, work is underway to further expand the product line.
The ministry added that thanks to this work, jobs were saved at the plant. In 2022-2023, employees of the enterprise plan to gradually index and raise salaries.
NPF Mossar is engaged in the production of electric energy meters, cash registers, electronic scales, as well as lamps. By December 2022, the company employs about 1,200 people.[1]
