2022: System Creation
On December 8, 2022, it became known about the creation in Russia of a national publishing IT system, which is designed to replace Western software. The system will be launched on the basis of the Russian editorial and publishing complex Axiocat.
This program needs to be finalized, Vladimir Grigoriev, director of the department of state support for the periodical press and the book industry in the Ministry of Digital Science, told Vedomosti in December 2022. According to him, the government is going to allocate about 60-65 million rubles for the modernization of software. The project to finalize the Axiocat system has already been approved by the legal commission for digital development, an application for its financing has been sent to the Skolkovo Foundation, a representative of the Ministry of Digital Development told the newspaper.
The information that it is planned to launch a national publishing system in Russia was confirmed to Vedomosti in the management of the publishing houses Argumenty i Fakty, Komsomolskaya Pravda, IM Media. By December 2022, large federal publications use Western publishing complexes Atex (for example, the publishing house Argumenty i Fakty works with it), WoodWing (publishing house Komsomolskaya Pravda), Vjoon K4 (Vedomosti).
During the discussion of the project with market participants, a representative of Axiosoft, which is the developer of the Axiocat complex, explained that budget funds would cover 80% of the cost of finalizing the program, the remaining 20% was proposed to be co-financed by publishing houses that will be part of the initiative group. It was assumed that for financial support of the project, publishers will be able to purchase the finished product for 20% of its commercial value. It is also noted that the developer Axiosoft declined to comment to the newspaper.
According to Vedomosti, the launch of the national publishing system is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.[1]
