2022: Exoskeleton announcement
On December 8, 2022, it became known about the creation in Russia of an exoskeleton for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. A feature of the technology developed by specialists of the Moscow Polytechnic together with the company "Noon. 21st century, "is that the device" grows "with the child.
First, the device will be used only for diagnostics: sensors installed on the skeleton frame will first be worn by healthy people, according to their manner of walking, they will create a database of correct movements, along which they will form a universal "correct" gait.
Experts said that healthy people also have gait disorders, which in the future can lead to diseases of the joints, cardiovascular system and other negative consequences. The exoskeleton will be able to detect such violations.
At the next stage, the device is used to determine walking characteristics in children with cerebral palsy, which will make it possible to create a program of therapeutic exercises and monitor its effectiveness. Doctors will have all the necessary data for the patient.
After the diagnostic function of the exoskeleton is worked out, the developers will adjust it to correct the gait. For this purpose, motors are used in the device. As a result, the patient must be able to walk so that the engines do not interfere with him. At the same time, the user will not need any special training.
Also, the exoskeleton will be able to "grow" with the child: the software and hardware will remain, and the parts can be replaced. The device can be printed on a 3D printer per day for any child up to 1.5 meters tall.
Diagnosis will take no more than 15 minutes: this will require a treadmill with imitation of obstacles. At the same time, the child will be able to wear an exoskeleton for an unlimited time, and the appearance of the device can be designed in the form of superhero costumes.[1]
