MegaFon provided residents and visitors to the Lakhta Center skyscraper with high-quality communication and high-speed Internet. The project provides for the placement of key equipment outside the complex. MegaFon announced this on December 26, 2022.

Lakhta Center was built using the latest energy efficiency and autonomy technologies.

Taking into account the peculiarities of the facility, MegaFon specialists have developed a large-scale project for sustainable operation of the cellular network. MegaFon's equipment is evenly distributed throughout the Lakhta Center facilities. The main elements of the internal system consist of 25 groups of radio equipment, 2213 antennas, 64 km of radio cable and 4.5 km of optical communication lines. The project made it possible to provide coverage of all premises, including a tower with a height of 462 meters, with a high-quality mobile signal, "said Natalya Taldykina, Director of Corporate Business Development at MegaFon.

Outside the complex, a separate data center was built, in which base stations were located. The data center is equipped with the 1st reliability category - it has two power supply lines from the network, an uninterruptible power supply and an autonomous generator. Such an infrastructure solution makes it possible to stay in touch for a long time in the absence of electricity.

A comprehensive data center solution and a distributed active antenna system provide reliable coverage for BIG4 operators. To connect to the network, it is enough to install your base station in the data center, while placing additional equipment in the buildings of the business center is not required.

The complex is connected to the data center by fiber-optic communication lines passing along geographically distributed routes, which guarantees high reliability and uninterrupted provision of services.
