On December 23, 2022, LG Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding with technology startup Asleep. Together, partners are developing solutions that will help improve people's sleep and rest.
Asleep specializes in technologies that allow you to determine the phases of a person's sleep from the sounds of breathing. Based on the collected data, various services using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms can be provided. This system can be integrated into various devices equipped with a microphone: it can be, for example, a smartphone, tablet, smart speaker or TV. The advantage of this approach is that the user does not need to wear a separate device, which can cause a certain discomfort during sleep.
LG has created a new generation of smart electronics and home appliances with integrated Asleep technology. These are TVs, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, etc. It is assumed that such devices will be integrated into the ecosystem of a smart home, which will form an environment focused on the inhabitants of the dwelling. For example, a climatic installation will be able to automatically optimize the temperature depending on the sleep phase of a person so that he can rest well. And the washing machine will independently switch to the "laundry care after graduation" function if the system determines that the owner has fallen asleep.
LG says it intends to launch smart appliances on the market that will significantly improve the quality of life of customers. The South Korean company will demonstrate the concept of a new generation smart bedroom at the CES consumer electronics show in Las Vegas in early January 2023.
We expect to create a human-centered living environment from bedroom to living room by combining Asleep technology with LG Electronics premium appliances, notes Asleep.[1] |
