2023: Device Presentation

In early January 2023, the presentation of the electronic pen for graphic designers MSI Pen 2 took place. The main function of the gadget is the ability to write both on the touch display and on a sheet of ordinary paper, without removing or pulling in the graphite tip of the device.

The MSI Pen 2 supports 4096 pressure levels and is equipped with a battery that provides up to 10 hours of operation. The full charge time is 5 minutes. The digital pen leaves no marks on the screen. The device uses the Microsoft MPP 2.6 protocol.

A port is 2 provided for charging the MSI Pen pencil stylus. The Type-C company has a declared autonomy of MSI 10 hours, and a fast recharge time of 5 minutes using a USB-C port on the side panel. To adjust the tactile feedback of the stylus, there is a connection by, in Bluetooth turn, it is implemented using the vibration motor built into the case. The weight of the device is 14.5 grams.

Among other features of the device, the manufacturer distinguishes the dependence of line thickness on the tilt of the stylus. The developers at MSI made the graphite rod small and lightweight enough to prevent it from damaging the electronic device and leaving no traces when interacting with the screen.

According to representatives of MSI, the pencil stylus transmits the movement of the hand as accurately as possible and with a minimum delay. Thanks to this, users will be able to draw MSI Pen 2 on a tablet as easily as they do with a regular pencil on paper.

The cost of the MSI Pen 2 pencil stylus on January 10, 2023 is not specified. The MSI Pen 2 will reportedly ship with the Creator Z17 HX Studio laptops. The date of the laptop on sale by January 10, 2023 has not yet been announced, but it is known that the cost will be about $3,000.^[1]
