2023: KamAZ withdrew from projects of cast iron casting plants and auto components in Kazakhstan

KamAZ withdrew from the projects of cast iron casting plants and auto components in Kazakhstan. This became known in mid-January 2023.

According to Interfax, we are talking about Kazakhstan's KamLit KZ LLP, in which by the end of 2021 KamAZ owned 39%. The Russian company confirmed to the agency the withdrawal from the number of co-owners of this enterprise, but refrained from disclosing details. It is only known that the share was sold to HEAT Motors LLP.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Justice, High End Assembly Technologies Motors LLP (HEAT Motors LLP) was registered in Astana in early March 2022. Among its co-owners, Hans Peter Moser is the ex-head of the KamAZ project to create a promising family of K5 cars.

TOO "KamLit KZ" is building two plants in Kostanay by January 2023. One of them will be engaged in cast iron casting, releasing, in particular, cylinder blocks and block heads for engines of KamAZ cars. Production area - 28 thousand square meters. m, design capacity - more than 40 thousand tons of cast iron casting per year. Construction began in 2020, the amount of investment was estimated at $200 million.

The second plant will produce components of the driving bridges (beams and main gears). The volume of investments in the project is also about $200 million. Production capacity - 74 thousand units of products per year. It is planned to put the plants into operation in 2023-2025.

The construction of the most modern foundry of its kind is part of a lot of work on the reengineering and development of the new KamAZ model range. We have high hopes for this project and transfer a number of responsible positions on the square in Kustanai, on which the reliability, capacity and efficiency of KamAZ equipment depends, - said the general director of the company Sergey Kogogin.[1]
