2022: Karelian paper manufacturer begins to automate MR

Today, the plant is a modern production complex with a high level of automation and mechanization of technological processes. The main products of the plant are newsprint.
Dmitry Timokhin, Head of the Efficiency Service of Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill, noted: Our company is already successfully operating an IT management solution - Service Desk Itilium, developed by Desnol Soft. When choosing a system for automating the management of repairs and maintenance of equipment, we certainly relied on our own positive experience of cooperation with the partner company, as well as on other Desnol Soft projects.

Before the start of the project at the Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill, equipment maintenance was managed according to the old fashioned way: most of the information on planned preventive work and equipment defects was stored on paper, and there were no implemented information systems of the EAM class. The data was stored separately: each unit has its own information, so it was difficult to quickly analyze the repair work.

That is why at the start of the 1S:TOIR implementation project at the Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill the following goals were formulated:

  • ensure prompt access to technical documentation on equipment and repairs, so that 100% of equipment critical for production, namely, paper machines, are serviced in a timely manner;
  • reduce the time and number of unscheduled repairs of critical equipment;
  • reduce the volume of internal paper document flow of MR;
  • reduce the time for approval of documents - from registration of a defect to issuing a task to the contractor;
  • Ensure reasonable cost planning at different levels of detail, up to and including equipment
  • reduce inventory of materials while maintaining the required quality of repairs.

The experience of the implemented projects shows that all these goals are achievable with 1S:TOIR. The introduction of the system in Kondopozhsky Pulp and Paper Mill JSC began with a pilot site - paper shop No. 7, after which the solution will be replicated to the rest of the enterprise's workshops.

Reliability analyst Roman Konoplev talks about the progress of the project: A wide range of our specialists are involved in participating in the project: mechanics, instrumentation, power engineers, electronic engineers. The process of certification of equipment is underway. Each in its own direction enters into the system database information about equipment: machines, shop units. This is painstaking work, requiring both time and attention. It runs in parallel with the current tasks of repair services, so the implementation of the 1S:TOIR will take some time, but by March 2023, specialists from the central repair service must begin to fully work in the new system.

By introducing 1S:TOIR, Kondopozhsky Pulp and Paper Mill JSC will be able to plan repair activities using the shutdown repair functionality, specialists will be able to register and analyze equipment defects, as well as store historical data on its work. In addition, the 1S:TOIR is planned to be integrated with the current 1C:ERP information system that provides enterprise resource management.
