Door locks of these series are intended for independent operation on objects where need of ensuring independent management of blocking of one door appears. At the same time biometric locks are also non-volatile as they do not require external power sources. For their work four standard alcaline batteries with tension 1.5 volts providing up to 50 thousand operating cycles of the lock are used. Biometrics devices display warning of the user of need of change of batteries on the display in the form of the level of their charge.

The main method of identification of people in L3000 and L5000 is reading of fingerprints by means of the finger scanner. This optical scanner makes biometric identification with resolution capability of 500 dpi. Thanks to advanced modules and the newest algorithms of fingerprint recognition, its reading speed does not exceed one and a half seconds. Unlike analogs, biometric ZKSoftware locks have high reliability and resistance to mechanical and climatic influences, and allow to minimize failures at identification. Probability of wrong failures of the lock in access to the authorized user is 0.0001 percent (FAR), and the admission of strangers — less than 1 percent (FRR).

For increased security and the accuracy of identification ZKSoftware locks allow to enter the access code. Also they can be understaffed with readers of contactless RFID cards optionally. Both models allow to use the guest mode in which they are not blocked during certain time for convenience of users. In case of emergency biometric L5000 locks allow to apply a mechanical key to pass. Each lock has the storage capacity expected 500 templates of fingerprints, 100 passwords, 500 RFID cards and 30,000 records of events.

Editing ZK L3000 and L5000 database is performed on site installations of the lock using buttons of the information display, at the same time it is possible to delete and register new fingerprints without preliminary removal of the available templates. For process control of updating of databases and other functions of identification biometric locks allow to select three user groups of Administrator, Supervisor and User with different powers and the access level. The procedure of adding and management of biometric data to be made quickly, and programming and service of these devices is most simplified.

Service life of ZKSoftware locks makes not less than 20 years, thanks to reliable electronics and the original body of devices manufactured of high-quality alloy of zinc with a special protecting cover. These locks are protected from electrostatic discharges, blows and vibrations, and at observance of service regulations run smoothly. In addition to it, biometric locks are capable to function at temperatures to minus 45 Celsius degrees and humidity from 20 to 80 percent therefore can be established both on external, and on inside doors of offices, hotels, banks and other organizations. Among themselves L3000 and L5000 models differ in design and color of the front panel, construction of the castle mechanism and method of data exchange with the PC through RS-232 or USB port, respectively.
