2023: Appointment as CEO of Russian office of Moet Henessy
Moet Henessy has appointed a new general director in Russia - Alina Klushina became it. This became known on January 26, 2023.
On this day, the Interfax agency, citing data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL), reported that Klushina replaced Sebastien Vilmo, who headed Moet Hennessy Distribution Rus LLC since May 2018.
The change of the head of the Russian office of Moet Henessy became known a few months after the manufacturer of cognac and other alcohol to Russian partners about the decision to stop supplying champagne to the Russian Federation for an indefinite period. The company explained that the measure was taken due to a new Russian law obliging to change the category and labeling of products from champagne wines to sparkling wine. Going forward, Moet Hennessy agreed to use the name for its drinks and promised to resume deliveries as quickly as possible.
Moet Hennessy is one of the world leaders in the production of alcohol, which is part of the French concern LVMH. The company's brands include Moet & Chandon, Dom Perignon, Hennessy, Belvedere and others.
According to the Center for Research on Federal and Regional Alcohol Markets (CIFRRA), Russia imports about 50 million liters of sparkling and champagne wines per year, of which 13% are champagne from France, and Moet Hennessy accounts for less than 2%. Moet Hennessy products are included in the list of goods that can be imported into Russia under the so-called parallel import scheme. [1]
