2023: Former top manager tried to steal 50 million rubles
The largest Russian manufacturer of tires for aircraft and helicopters, YASHZ Avia, tried to steal 50 million rubles. Kommersant wrote about the fraudulent scheme on January 30, 2023.
According to the newspaper, in Yaroslavl, an investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs charged an attempt to steal money from YASHZ Avia under the guise of paying a "golden parachute" to the former top manager of the enterprise Kirill Vasiliev and his wife Zhaneta Stumbraite. According to investigators, in 2020, the defendants in the case planned to steal the company's funds by issuing payments under a fictitious employment contract. Vasiliev held the position of deputy managing director, thanks to which he knew the peculiarities of document management at the enterprise, and was also in a trusting relationship with the head of the enterprise. Vasiliev fictitiously arranged his wife, without higher education, who had the specialty of a dressmaker. The "golden parachute" was intended for her.
When changes took place in the management of the enterprise and Vasiliev left it, Stumbraite stopped paying salaries, after which she demanded to pay off the debt in the amount of 300 thousand rubles and interest. Having been refused, she went to court with the hope of demanding multimillion-dollar compensation, but lost it.
The investigation eventually concluded that the actions aimed at stealing 50 million rubles were not completed due to circumstances beyond the control of the accused.
According to the publication, it is possible that the second episode may appear in the case. As it turned out, Kirill Vasiliev on May 14, 2020 concluded an employment agreement with a company that is part of the YASHZ Avia group, which also includes a clause on the payment of a "golden parachute" in the amount of 50 million rubles. With him, the former top manager appealed to the Zyuzinsky court of Moscow, but he refused the claim. A pre-investigation check is being carried out on this fact.[1]
