2023: Announcement
At the end of January 2023, Audi introduced the premium electric car Activesphere, built on the Premium Platform Electric architecture. Its feature is glass with augmented reality (AR) elements for the driver and all passengers.
The car looks like a coupe, but has four doors, and the rear doors are huge and opening against the move. There is no middle post in the body, coupled with large doors, which, according to the developers, makes the process of landing in the second row of seats as comfortable as possible. Each of the four armrests with integrated armrests and headrests looks like the throne of some eccentric Chinese emperor from legends.
The length of the Audi Activesphere is an impressive 4.98 m, height 1.6 m, and width 2.07 m. The wheelbase of the car is 2.97 m. Audi reports that these dimensions are identical to the future production Audi A6 e-tron, which will be available in both the traditional sedan body and the coupe-shaped Sportback, and the Avant station wagon. Two electric motors with a total capacity of 463 liters. from. and with a torque of 720 Nm provide the car with four-wheel drive. A battery with an operating voltage of 800 V produces up to 100 kVt⋅ch, guaranteeing a range of more than 600 km.
The front panel is devoid of any screens and acts as a large soundbar and duct. The steering wheel is rectangular - according to the latest fashion set by Tesla. In autopilot mode, the steering wheel, front panel and pedals disappear, allowing passengers to enjoy a view of the road through a transparent grille. The central tunnel of the coupe crossover is equipped with cooled and heated compartments for food and drinks and covered with a transparent panel.
A distinctive feature of the Audi Activesphere battery, according to the developers, is support for charging stations with a capacity of up to 270 kW. At such a station, the car will replenish the battery charge from 5% to 80% in less than 24 minutes. The suspension of the front and rear axle of the Audi Activesphere is independent multi-link (5 levers) with adaptive shock absorbers.
The Audi Activesphere electric car will be based on a completely chassis with a staircase frame. Over time, a whole family of full-fledged electric SUVs under the Scout brand will appear on this SCOUT. Audi Activesphere will not have mass production. Audi plans to launch the first such SUV in 2027.
Audi chief designer Mark Lichte said the Audi SUV will be the final part of a plan to launch two dozen new electric vehicles by 2026. This scheme includes electrical versions of current models; car successors who failed to make the technological leap; as well as completely new electric cars.[1]
