Education

Ekaterina Vidyakina graduated from the Kirov State Medical Institute in 1996, after which she studied in residency.

Career

1995-2005

From 1998 to 2005, she worked as a pulmonologist in the Kirov city polyclinic No. 1.

2009-2013

In 2009, Ekaterina Vidyakina became deputy head physician for medical work of the Kirov City Hospital No. 4. Four years later, she headed the institution. After she headed the Kirov City Clinical Hospital No. 1, and since 2013 she became a freelance therapist at the Ministry of Health of the Kirov Region.

2018

In January 2018, Ekaterina Vidyakina began acting as Deputy Minister of Health of the Kirov Region. She oversaw the provision of medical care to the adult and child population, drug provision and others.

2023: Appointment as Head of the Ministry of Health of the Kirov Region

At the end of January 2023, Ekaterina Vidyakina was approved as the new Minister of Health of the Kirov Region. Prior to that, she led the regional ministry in the status of acting head. Before her, since 2016, the post of head of the department was held by Andrei Chernyaev, who left the post of his own free will.

The approval of Vidyakina in office on January 30, 2023 was announced by the Governor of the Kirov Region Alexander Sokolov. At the end of January 2023, he stressed that over the past month, acting as Minister of Health, she showed herself to be a competent leader and coped well with the tasks set. Commenting on the resignation of Andrei Chernyaev, the governor said the following:

For a long time we persuaded Andrei Veniaminovich to continue working, but he decided to work in a slightly different capacity and from today changes the place of service. Andrei Veniaminovich headed the Ministry of Health for the past six years, made a significant contribution to improving the activities of medical organizations, informatization of the health care system, increasing the efficiency and availability of medical care. During this time, tremendous positive work has been carried out.[1]
