"Informtechnika and Communications" accelerated the production process thanks to lean production

2023: Completion of the first phase of the Labour Productivity Project

The capital's developer and manufacturer of modern communications facilities JSC Informtechnika and Svyaz has completed the first stage of the implementation of the national project "Labor Productivity." During this period, the company was able to increase the speed of the production process by almost 40 percent. This was reported on February 15, 2023 in the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city of Moscow, which is part of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations of the capital.

At the first stage of the national project, the process of producing telephone exchanges for uninterrupted communication used by special and emergency services was improved. For this, for six months, experts on improving labor productivity together with company employees introduced lean production technologies on a pilot stream.

During the analysis, it turned out that long-term movements of personnel and products during the production process, including between floors, lead to temporary losses. During the project, the locations of the equipment were changed, which eliminated the need for interfloor crossings. This reduced the distance of movements by almost 20 percent. In addition, a procedure for performing production operations was developed and a rational storage system was organized, due to which the production time was reduced by six days - from 14 to eight, and unused stocks decreased by a third.

Standards set by labor productivity experts will allow the company to independently improve efficiency on other flows of the enterprise. Thus, the production and logistics cycle for creating equipment for corporate communications, power, transport and industrial enterprises was chosen as a project.
