The technique was supplied by the Chinese company Weihai Hanvy Plywood Machinery.

Guests were shown a full technological cycle. The process begins with cleaning the log from bark, then veneer (thin sheets of wood) is made from it. After drying, the veneer is bonded under the press into multilayer plywood sheets.

Later, the delegation visited another production site of the company in the town of Chovyu. There, on European-made equipment, deep processing of wood is carried out with the production of lumber and fuel pellets (pellet).

General Director of Luzales Ivan Chigirinov said that the launch of plywood production is a natural development of the enterprise. According to him, the creation of its own plywood line will increase the volume of production and strengthen the company's competitive position in the market.[1]

Restart of a factory bought from IKEA in the Leningrad region

Lumber manufacturer Luzales has restarted the former factory of the Swedish IKEA in Tikhvin, Leningrad Region. The press service of the company announced this in early June 2023.

Luzales restarted a factory bought from IKEA in the Leningrad region

As noted in the company, environmentally friendly materials are used in production. The first batch of countertops will be delivered as part of kitchen sets to a residential building with a kindergarten, built by the company in Syktyvkar. Different types of furniture produced at the factory will receive names in the Komi language, the company added.

Luzales LLC, according to the company's website, by the beginning of June 2023 is one of the leading logging and woodworking enterprises in Komi. The company is engaged in logging, export of forest products, deep processing and sale of finished products. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the sole owner of the company is Maria Semenyuk.

Luzales bought the former IKEA plants in the Leningrad and Kirov regions. By the beginning of June 2023, the timing of the restart of the Kirov factory has not been announced, Interfax reported on June 2, 2023.

In March 2023, Luzales told about plans to produce school furniture from a massive board. At the same time, it was reported that the former IKEA enterprises will continue to produce familiar items: racks, tables, beds, dressers and other household goods. One of the projects in the new direction for Luzales for the production of interior items will be the development of a technology model that will make school furniture from the massif competitive, said Ruslan Semenyuk, chairman of the board of directors of Luzales.[2]
