2022: Digital Product Development "Digitalization Management System"

As part of the Business Solutions and Technologies project to develop digitalization programs, the concept and prototype of the digitalization management system for PJSC MMK, a solution was required that could combine the project office, production and the customer in a single system for structured management of the digitalization portfolio. The solution to the problem of creating a digital product "Digitalization Management System" was entrusted to the web integrator "Fact."

Tasks

  • Implement a convenient and visual interactive map displaying the effectiveness of all digitalization programs in terms of physical objects and directions
  • Create a roadmap for digitalization, from initiative to accounting for the effectiveness of the implemented product
  • Develop a map to cover business processes with digital solutions
  • Combine disparate data on all digitalization programs, investments and digitalization effects into a single and visual web interface
  • Implement personal access to the necessary data and key business indicators for each business role
  • Integrate the system into the information space of MMK PJSC

Decision

The interactive map allows managers and investors of the enterprise to see a general picture of projects, solutions and digital initiatives with reference to the geographical location of the object. Familiarize yourself with the object-specific summary information , as well as detailed information in the form of a schedule with the display of specific initiatives and projects.

At all levels of the map, aggregated visualized information on project indicators is presented, broken down by direction, loaded from integrated corporate systems.

The digitalization roadmap allows you to get complete information on the progress and plans for the implementation of programs by year/quarter in the context of business processes and functional areas.

On the map of digital solutions, it is possible to analyze projects, initiatives, products in the context of production units and sort them by economic efficiency.

All information about the digital solution is collected in one place, the section allows you to combine the project office, production and the customer, when creating unified business information and project indicators. The digital solution card details information about the digital solution, in terms of: responsible, implementation dates, economic indicators, investments, economic effect, as well as links with other projects. For the initiative on the digitalization project, a personal type of card was implemented to protect the project before the digital committee.

Business roles

We implemented seven roles to work with the "Interactive Digitalization Map." Depending on the role, the user can solve different business tasks.

The main roles of the system are: Top manager, investor:

  • Understands the scale and boundaries of digitalization
  • Assesses the effects of digitalization

Business Area Manager:

  • Gets acquainted with current plans for the implementation of digital solutions
  • Assesses the level of digitalization of business processes
  • Promptly receives information on solutions of interest

Digital Leader:

  • Monitors the implementation of individual solutions, including related solutions from other areas
  • Identifies an area with potential for digitalization, including solutions that cannot be attributed to a specific business process or workshop
  • Monitors the composition of the digital portfolio
  • Looking for solutions with potential for replication

Project Manager:

  • Provides solutions information to all stakeholders
  • Populates and edits solution information

Technologies used

Results

The new service "Digitalization Management System" helped managers and TOP management to take control and management of digitalization by the MMK PJSC group to a new level. The system helped to form a visual understanding of the progress of digitalization and contribution to the achievement of business goals of the directions. Investors gained access to a transparent assessment and forecast of investments in digitalization programs.

For six months of the system's operation, 72 divisions of PJSC MMK used the service. Several hundred initiatives, projects and products are monitored and evaluated.
