2023: Wi-Fi 6E Access Point Line Out

Domestic IT manufacturer DataRu on March 13, 2023 announced the release of an updated line of enterprise-class access points according to the Wi-Fi 6E standard. They are capable of operating in the 6 GHz band and support fast data transfer even in conditions of high device density. The equipment will be available to the company's customers from the third quarter of 2023.

The portfolio of access points that have appeared includes three models: DataRu TD A615 supports work in two ranges: 2.4 GHz and 5-6 GHz. The DataRu TD A635 and DataRu TD A655 models operate in three frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz.

The Wi-Fi 6E standard provides high data transfer speed and quality compared to previous generations - even in conditions where many devices connected to the Internet work in one room in parallel. The channel capacity is not reduced. This is especially true for large companies with large staff who have to work with a huge amount of information and multimedia applications.

DataRu customers will be able to use a stable wireless connection, including for working with high-load applications. Business-critical services will function smoothly.

For March 2023, many applications that big business uses must accept and transmit huge amounts of data with minimal latency. These, for example, include both computer vision tools, augmented and virtual reality systems, Internet of Things technologies and many others, as well as widespread cloud computing. For their correct operation without failure, the network must support the Wi-Fi 6E standard. Our access points support 6 GHz and others. This allows them to switch between frequencies to ensure a stable connection, "said Mikhail Komarov, head of the network direction of DataRu.

The State Commission on Radio Frequencies decided to allocate frequencies in the 5.9-6.4 GHz band for use in Wi-Fi networks (Wi-Fi 6E). Now the frequency band available to users of Wi-Fi networks in Russia has more than doubled. The Wi-Fi standard in the 6 GHz range is already supported by both network and user devices - for example, a number of smartphone models.

For March 2023, the Wi-Fi 7 standard (IEEE 802.11be) is being developed - it is expected that this generation of the Wi-Fi standard will be fully ready by the spring of 2024. DataRu plans to introduce access points that support Wi-Fi 7 in 2024.
