Release of MFP format A3 - for construction workers and engineers
IT-holding Fplus in early December 2024 introduced the first Russia in multifunctional devices () MFP of A3 format (3-in-1) with support for color printing. The devices are designed specifically for the corporate sector, including construction and engineering companies.
Previously, only black and white printers of the A3 format were produced in the country. The new line presents four MFP models at once, which differ in print speed and auto-feeder power. Compared to foreign counterparts, Russian devices provide a lower print cost due to the increased cartridge capacity (up to 47,700 pages for monochrome printing and 46,900 pages for color). In addition, no vendor or integrator engineers are required to run and configure the equipment. As a result, the total cost of ownership of MFPs is lower than that of competitors by an average of 20%, Fplus said.
The production of devices has been deployed at the holding plant in the Moscow region, which began work in February 2024. At the same time, a number of components for MFPs are purchased abroad due to the lack of their production in Russia.
Fplus Deputy General Director for Peripherals Dmitry Kuptsov said that the new MFPs are focused on the banking, oil and manufacturing sectors, where they will be used to create graphs, diagrams and technical documentation.
In the first quarter of 2025, older models of the line will go on sale - MC4501 and MS5501, capable of printing up to 45 and 55 pages per minute, respectively, and scanning up to 240 pages per minute. According to Fplus, the maximum load per month is 270,000 pages, the recommended one is 50,000 pages. In the second quarter of 2025, MS2501 and MC3501 will be released with 25 performance and 35 pages per minute and a scan speed of up to 200 pages per minute.
All models are equipped with a 25.6 cm (10.1 in) touchscreen color LCD screen for print control and tuning. The devices support a wide range of print formats (A6 to SRA3) and high resolution 4800 (equivalent) ×1200 dpi. MFPs are equipped with sensors for detecting an error in the supply of several documents in the scanner and incorrect arrangement of sheets in the automatic feeder.
Technologies for the production of color devices of the A3 format are owned by a limited number of companies in the world. Therefore, the production of such equipment is a great achievement for us as a manufacturer. Now customers have a domestic alternative to foreign devices, they will not have to overpay for complex logistics, and after all, parallel imports add at least 10% to the already high base price. Speaking of figures, in 2025 we expect to occupy up to 7% of the A3 format color printing market with a total segment capacity of about 15 thousand devices per year. MFPs are already available for testing, "said Dmitry Kuptsov, Fplus Deputy General Director for Peripherals. |
According to the Fplus holding, the volume of the Russian color laser technology market, including A3 and A4 formats, in 2024 amounted to 1.5-1.7 million devices worth $500-600 million. According to the statistics of the company Graviton"," color laser printers and MFPs occupy about 10% of the market for printing devices in physical terms and up to 25% in monetary terms.
The main competitors of the new Russian MFPs will be devices from the American company HP, Japanese manufacturers Kyocera, Canon and Ricoh, as well as Chinese brands supplied to Russia for parallel imports.[1]
Start-up of production
In mid-June 2024, it became known that the Fplus holding organized the production of the first Russian color MFPs. The production of devices that combine the functionality of a printer, scanner and copying machine has been established at the company's own plant in Valishchevo near Moscow.
According to CNews, the first model of MFP manufactured by Fplus was MC241adfw. The release process includes not only the assembly, but also the installation of its own software, "which guarantees the absence of any bookmarks in the system." However, some of the components for the devices come from friendly countries, in particular, from China. For example, in Russia, as of mid-2024, photobarabans are not made.
The device is MC241adfw capable of laser printing in monochrome and color modes at a speed of 24 pages per minute with a maximum resolution of 2400 × 600 dpi (dpi). The scan speed reaches 45 pages per minute. The novelty is equipped with a feed tray with a capacity of 250 sheets and an output tray for 100 sheets. The maximum print format is A4.
The device is compatible with Russian operating systems included in the register of domestic software. These include the platforms of the Viola family "," as well as, ROSA, Astra Linux"," Red OS"OSNOVA," etc. In addition, the MFP can be used with computers running Windows macOS.
It is noted that the MC241adfw model is focused on office use. A connection is supported by,, Wi-Fi Ethernet or. USB Automatic two-way printing is possible. Control has been implemented using a color touch screen with a diagonal of 7.2 cm. In addition to the printing equipment itself, Fplus also supplies original consumables for it. The fact is that these devices work with Fplus cartridges and are not compatible with cartridges of other brands.[2]
