2023: Launch of Remote Patient Health Control

Doctors in Moscow were able to remotely monitor the health of patients with chronic diseases. The press service of the capital's mayor announced this in mid-March 2023.

To implement this function, a new section has appeared in the electronic medical record (EMR) - "My self-control questionnaire," and in patients - the ability to enter data on well-being into it. Their significance and dynamics will be monitored by doctors online and, if necessary, invite citizens to an unscheduled appointment for additional examination or adjustment of therapy, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development. For doctors, the Dispensary Observation service provides for signal notifications if a person has deviations in the self-control questionnaire.

Since this year, a unique project of proactive dispensary observation has been launched in all adult city polyclinics in the capital and covers about a million Muscovites with chronic diseases. Its key feature is that doctors control the patient's condition not from admission to reception, but in dynamics. And now they have another tool for proactive surveillance. In electronic medical records, we have created a special self-control questionnaire with a convenient automatic reminder system. Assistant doctors will teach patients how to work with her, "she said.

For the convenience of users, a service of smart notifications is provided that will remind you of the need to enter data. If the patient did not fill out the questionnaire or more than a month has passed since the last filling out, a reminder will be displayed on the start page of the electronic medical record. In addition, for patients with chronic diseases, an electronic medical record provides additional notifications about the need to maintain a health diary and regularly fill out specific indicators in accordance with their diagnosis.[1]
