2023: One of the top managers of X5 sold a stake in Hotfix to a Voronezh entrepreneur

Top manager of X5 Group Igor Pletnev, who planned to invest in the development in Russia of the Belarusian network of budget coffee houses Hotfix, eventually left the founders of Hotfix Group of Companies LLC and Hotfix LLC - Russian network structures. This was reported at the end of March 2023 by the Kommersant newspaper with reference to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities).

According to the data of the SPARK-Interfax systems, since 2021 Pletnev has owned 37.5% of Hotfix Group of Companies, and in February 2023, an entrepreneur from Voronezh Yuri Svistov received such a share in the company. Another 40% belongs to society itself. Co-founders of the network Sergey Goverdovsky and Andrei Babakaev retained 12.5% and 10% in Hotfix Group of Companies, respectively.

Hotfix owns more than 20 points in Belarus and less than ten in Russia

As of March 2023, Hotfix owns more than 20 locations in Belarus and less than ten in Russia, including Moscow, Moscow region and Voronezh. By the end of 2023, the network wanted to open 100 points in Russia.

The One Price Coffee network suggested that Pletnev went out of business, as he did not believe in the scaling of the business and the ability to compete with Cofix, which is developing a similar format.

Hotfix tried to increase the number of points due to the franchise, knows Alexey Vanchugov, managing partner of Vanchugov and Partners. But the minimum threshold for opening their own points, which would contribute to the widespread dissemination of the partner program, has not been reached, the expert adds.

Hotfix copied the concept, up to the appearance of the points of sale, the existing network of a similar format in Russia - Cofix, notes Vanchugov. But at Cofix, according to him, the business works due to clearly built relationships with suppliers and logistics, a large number of points and brand recognition. For the Hotfix brand to be successful in Russia, the network needed to open a large number of points as soon as possible, he believes.[1]
