2023: Robot Exoscope Announcement
On March 22, 2023, Toronto-headquartered medical technology company Synaptive Medical unveiled a next-generation robotic exoscope. The system, called Modus X, is designed to help surgeons perform complex cancer surgeries.
The Modus X solution includes redesigned 3D optics, 27x zoom, automatic image focus, voice prompts and other advanced features. Support for 4K format has been implemented. The innovative platform also allows fluorescent-controlled operations to improve the differentiation of oncological tissues in real time.
It is noted that Modus X complements the integrated set of Synaptive products, uniting doctors in operating rooms. It includes mid-field magnetic resonance imaging, surgical planning and navigation tools, and imaging tools. Synaptive Medical claims that its solutions are designed to automate the receipt and processing of critical patient data at every stage of surgery: this increases the efficiency of clinical decision-making.
We expect advanced imaging capabilities to enable surgeons to perform even more effective and accurate interventions for the benefit of their patients. Through years of collaboration with our clinical partners, we have been able to create this perfect platform that pushes the boundaries of surgical imaging, "said Cameron Piron, president and co-founder of Synaptive Medical. |
It is also said that the special design of Modus X allows you to modernize the Modus V system in the clinic - the third generation Synaptive exoscope, which is currently installed in 80 hospitals around the world.[1]
