2023: Program Creation

The program of scientists of the Perm Polytechnic will improve the work of inpatient hospitals. The university announced this on March 28, 2023.

The experience of the pandemic coronavirus has shown that the prompt provision of beds for patients in need of hospitalization is an important function of care medical. At the same time construction , the new medical buildings are not always justified due to the high price and time restrictions. The process of repurposing medical organizations also has drawbacks, for example, the number of complaints from patients about a decrease in the quality of services provided is increasing. Perm Polytech scientists have developed a processing mechanism information that helps reduce patient queues, reduce the number of unmet patients by providing the necessary and sufficient bed capacity in a timely manner.

The dynamics of a number of diseases, in particular coronavirus infection, is changing chaotically and does not lend itself to the forecast, respectively, processes are needed that can optimize the mass service of patients. To manage the service system for the sick, polytechnics have developed a mechanism based on the Decon software. It is based on the hierarchical linear convolution method, which will process queries by severity. The mechanism also included the following parameters: the level of workload of the department, the time intervals between the recording of patients, an increase or decrease in bed capacity, the presence of seasonal diseases and colds, the number of complaints at the entrance (waiting in line), the number of complaints from persons receiving treatment in this medical institution (due to compaction).

The developed integrated assessment mechanism makes it possible to predict a timely change in the availability of vacant places and promptly coordinates the opinions of different decision-making parties - patients and employees of medical organizations - the chief physician, the head nurse and the heads of medical departments. Thanks to the speed of information processing, the mechanism helps to improve the work of the medical institution, - said Regina Larionova, assistant to the Department of Construction Engineering and Materials Science.

This mechanism takes into account the preferences of all interested parties, and due to the speed of data exchange, the program does not create queues among patients, therefore, the number of complaints from patients about the quality of the services provided by the hospital decreases, "said Valery Kharitonov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Construction Engineering and Materials Science.

The program can be adapted to other mass service systems for citizens with an online flow of applications.
