2023: Zound Industries купил Marshall Amplification
On March 30, 2023, Swedish headphone and Bluetooth speaker manufacturer Zound Industries announced a deal to buy the British company Marshall Amplification, which specializes in audio amplifiers and speakers.
Since 2010, Zound Industries has represented the Marshall brand in the global market, releasing products under license. Under the terms of the signed agreement, the financial details of which are not disclosed, a private company Marshall Group will be formed. Its largest shareholder with a 24% stake will be the Marshall family. The agreement provides that the key figures in the new company will be Victoria and Terry Marshall - the heirs of the legendary Jim Marshall (died in 2012), who founded Marshall Amplification with his son Terry in 1962. In addition, Jim's granddaughter Joanne Marshall-Price, Paul Marshall and the Marshall Charitable Trust will take part in the management of the Marshall Group.
The deal applies to all Marshall Amplification brands and subsidiaries, including Natal Drums, Marshall Records and Marshall Live Agency. Victoria and Terry Marshall will join the Marshall Group board of directors. Jeremy de Maillard, who is CEO of Zound, will become head of the Marshall Group.
Since my father and I created the original Marshall amplifier in 1962, we've always looked for ways to bring innovative sound to music lovers with any preference around the world, and I'm sure Marshall Group will take that mission to the next level, "Terry Marshall said. |
Marshall Group is expected to be able to expand the business through a holistic strategy and global business operations. This will help accelerate revenue and profit growth. Although the Zound brand will cease to exist once the merger is complete, the Swedish company has no plans to divest from its other product families, such as Urbanears.[1]
