At the TAdviser LowCode Day 2023 conference held at the end of March, top managers of the Indian IT company NanoX - CEO Srikanth Mahadevan and CTO Sabarish Santhanam - presented the low-code Axpert platform, a localized version of which they plan to promote on the Russian market.

What the platform is designed for

According to the developers, the Axpert platform is 15 years old, and about 5 thousand developers around the world are creating applications on it.

Axpert has a tiered microservice architecture that allows you to create and run many applications on a single unified platform for different domains and needs. It includes elements such as an in-memory database and queue management, which allows you to use the platform to develop applications in a large business. On the platform, it is possible to:

• create.net applications without the help of programmers;
• Quickly develop and deploy applications
• Create mobile applications
• Develop secure and scalable applications
• Integrate platform-based applications with other software.

Axpert can be used for the following tasks:

• Create your own ERP solution or enhance your ERP system
• development of user software;
• modernization of supply chains, revenue cycles, interaction between employees.

Applications - mainly ERP systems created on Axpert can be used in the field of public administration and defense, healthcare, educational sphere, in large companies in various sectors of the economy (construction, agriculture, light industry, etc.).

The Axpert platform can be installed on the client site. The license policy provides for the purchase of server licenses and user licenses.

A new Axpert release is released every 6 months. Unscheduled addition of customer-critical functionality takes about 3-4 weeks.

Platform localization for Russia

The rights to Axpert belong to another Indian-based company, Bangalore, Agile Labs. And NanoX acts as its partner in Axpert solutions and implementation in other countries of the world.

NanoX plans to localize the Axpert platform and a number of business applications created on it for various sectors of the Russian economy and form a partner network in Russia. As of March 2023, localization is in the process.

Russia is now moving in a different direction than most Western countries. The company expects to take the place vacated from Western vendors. NanoX has the most serious intentions to enter the Russian low-code market, "Sabarish Santanam assured.

The company is determined to do everything necessary to comply with Russian law. For example, work is underway to ensure that the data is placed on the territory of the Russian Federation. NanoX is also ready to take steps so that it can include localized Axpert-based solutions in the register of domestic software.

NanoX co-founder and managing director Apjeet Singh explained to TAdviser that the Axpert version localized for Russia and the CIS countries will be called NanoX. Intellectual property for this version will be transferred to the Russian joint venture, which NanoX AI Labss (this is the full name of NanoX) plans to create together with a local partner.

Apjit Singh chose not to disclose the name of the Russian partner in question for the joint venture, but added that negotiations with him are at an advanced stage. In April, NanoX expects to finalize the details related to the creation of a joint company. This option will allow you to include a localized solution in the register of domestic software.

The CTO of NanoX believes that the existing Russian low-code platforms are more suitable for the SMB segment, and Axpert is designed to create applications for large corporate business and the public sector. In this, according to him, the advantage due to which the company expects to win in the competition.

In matters of information security, NanoX is ready to cooperate with Russian partners, vendors providing information security solutions, and integrate them with its platform.

Answering at the TAdviser conference to a question about the possibility of the platform working on Russian OS, Sabarish Santanam replied that the Axpert platform is based on the Rest API, so it can be integrated with any systems. Since open source is used, it is possible to compile solutions on any OS.

Initial training for development specialists on the Axpert platform takes 3-4 weeks, the cost of training is included in the cost of the platform. According to Sabarish Santanam, Russian educational institutions will be provided with a free license if they teach students to work on the platform.
