2023: Use of Neural Networks to Assess the Quality of Motor Parts
On April 6, 2023, it became known about the first case of using neuronets aircraft engines to assess the quality of parts. The technology was introduced at the Rybinsk UEC-Saturn enterprise, which is part of the United Engine Corporation"." Rostec The development of UEC-Saturn made it possible to automate the process of assessing the quality of propulsion blades and includes the use of advanced algorithms image processing.
The new method of automated fluorescent control using machine vision and neural network technologies provides for the survey of all surfaces of the part, the search for defects, the calculation of their geometric characteristics, the classification and determination of the serviceability of the product according to the regulatory documentation. This method makes it possible to detect all types of defects, including cracks, crowns, solders, etc. The use of this control method in the production process improves the accuracy and reliability of the results obtained.
An additional effect of using this method is the formation of a "digital trace" of the manufactured products, which will allow retrospective analysis of the production process in order to optimize it.
For this development, "UEC-Saturn" was awarded the gold medal of the International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "Archimedes-2023." Also in the piggy bank of Rybinsk engine builders - a bronze award.
We are actively working out various options for using machine vision precisely for product quality control. The use of image processing algorithms and neural network technologies has been tested and finalized at a specially created experimental stand. The use of machine vision technology in our production multiplies the throughput of the control area and reduces personnel requirements, "said Evgeny Alekseev, Information Technology Director of UEC-Saturn. |
